Patrick Star is SpongeBob’s best friend. Patrick is a plump, loveable pink starfish who often lands himself (and his best friend SpongeBob) in a heap of trouble. However, Patrick is somewhat clueless. He simply is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He lives under a rock just 2 doors down from his friend SpongeBob and right next door to Squidward. Although he is very loving, he is also very gullible. He believes practically everything that he is told and that often gets him into a bit of trouble.

Patrick doesn’t really have a job, although he does hang out at the Krusty Krab with his friend from time to time. He likes to give advice to everyone about everything, although he could sure use some good advice himself from time to time. Patrick does sometimes become jealous of all the awards that SpongeBob has. He even once tried to imitate his friend at being a good fry cook, although he didn’t do SpongeBob justice. He did, however, win an award for doing nothing longer than anyone else, which made him very happy.

Patrick is a huge fan of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy and he loves to eat all kinds of food, especially ice cream, cheese and the famous Krabby Patty. He also loves riding in fish hooks, which is not so smart but lots of fun.

Patrick’s favorite pastime is helping his friend SpongeBob. He even tried to help him get his driver’s license by telling him what to do through a walkie-talkie. Even though he appears to be dim-witted and clumsy, Patrick is a very loving starfish and the best friend that a sponge could ever have.
